The Louise Tillotson Teaching Fellowship seeks educators to help redesign program

Open to K-12 educators in Coös County, NH and bordering communities.

(PRESS RELEASE) — The Louise Tillotson Teaching Fellowship is seeking North Country educators to be part of its 2025-2026 redesign team. Educators who are K-12 teachers in Coös County, NH and bordering communities are invited to apply for the cohort, with preference given to applicants teaching at public schools.

Since 2008, the Louise Tillotson Teaching Fellowship has played an important role in recognizing, celebrating and retaining North Country teachers. To date, the Fellowship has granted financial awards to more than 50 educators across the region, providing opportunities and resources to deepen their impact in their schools and communities. The Fellowship was established at the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation in 2006 by Louise Tillotson.

“Are you a teacher eager to deepen your impact in your school or community? Do you have big ideas for improving student or educator experiences but aren’t sure how to get started? Are you looking for a collaborative group of thinkers and doers to support you on your journey? If so, we hope you will consider applying to the Louise Tillotson Teaching Fellowship,” said Phoebe Backler, senior community partner at the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.

The 2025-2026 Louise Tillotson Teaching Fellowship cohort will play a key role in shaping the program going forward, ensuring it remains relevant and meaningful to educators’ needs—a fellowship for local educators, designed by local educators. Elements will include a series of facilitated learning and program design sessions over 18 months, and funding and support for a passion project undertaken by the fellows. Fellows will also receive a stipend for their time.

Applications can be found on the Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund website. Applications will be reviewed by a committee of Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund representatives and partners on a rolling basis until May 12, 2025. The first Fellowship cohort will be announced in early June. Fellows will be chosen based on their passion for education and for their readiness to unleash energy and innovative approaches with program support.
